The Guardian^® RT system is a personal continuous glucose monitoring system displaying blood glucose levels to the user around the clock. This continuous insight facilitates any treat-to-target approach and empowers people with diabetes to take action before glycaemic excursions lead to emergencies. [Ref. 6].

Additionally, alarms provide added safety to patients when their blood glucose levels go above or below the target range.

General guidelines and indications

The Guardian^® RT system is for all Type 1 or Type 2 people with diabetes who wish to reduce erratic blood sugar fluctuations and emergency situations [Ref 7].

It is particularly beneficial for the following patients:

• Parents who are closely monitoring their child's diabetes
• Patients who have lost their ability to detect rapid changes in blood sugar levels or whose mental sharpness is affected by rapidly changing glucose levels during work
• Women with gestational diabetes, or who want to become pregnant
• Anyone who has had an accident or close call caused by hypoglycaemia
