Biography

TOM TEFFT
Senior Vice President and President, Neuromodulation

Tom Tefft was named Senior Vice President and President of the Neuromodulation business at Medtronic in August 2009. In this role, Tom oversees the research, development, operations, and product sales and marketing for the company’s products and therapies used in the treatment of chronic pain, movement disorders, spasticity, overactive bladder and urinary retention, benign prostatic hyperplasia, and gastroparesis.

Tom joined Medtronic in 1992 as Assistant Corporate Controller. In his tenure with the company, he has served in a variety of roles, most recently leading the Corporate Controller function as its Vice President. He has also served as Vice President of Finance for the Cardiac Rhythm Management business and as Vice President and Controller for Medtronic’s Europe, Middle East and Africa Operations. Before coming to Medtronic, Tom spent 10 years at Price Waterhouse in Minneapolis where he managed the audits of several large multi-national companies.

Tom is a member of the Standing Advisory Group of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) and serves as a member of the Committee on Corporate Reporting as part of the Executive Committee of Financial Executives International (FEI). He also serves as a Board member of the Nicholas Center for Corporate Finance and Investment Banking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Business.

Tom received his bachelor’s of arts degree in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1982.
